Child safety experts provided input at every stage of development to ensure the product meets the needs of EMTs, as well as performs effectively to restrain child occupants during transport. The ASP includes some of the nation’s most prominent pediatricians and child passenger safety experts.

No other product on the market has been tested so thoroughly.
The National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) is the trade association representing the nation’s manufacturers and distributors of commercial trucks, truck bodies, truck equipment trailers and accessories. NTEA members include companies that produce every conceivable configuration of commercial trucks, including highly specialized vehicles, such as ambulances, snow and ice-control vehicles and several types of buses. AMD, a division of NTEA, is a standards-setting organization that establishes requirements to which all newly manufactured ambulances must conform. KKK-A-1822, the federal specification for ambulances, incorporates 15 different AMD standards that govern ambulances, including AMD004, focused on litter (cot) retention. The SafeGuard Transport meets all applicable requirements for restraining straps within the AMD004 litter retention standard, and meets all applicable KKK specifications required for an ambulance to be designated with a “Star of Life.”
